'Suzi the cat' - Pets on Quilts Show 2015 |
In this prize-winning photo Suzi is resting on my red and white Nearly Insane quilt whilst I am removing papers. I used the English Paper Piecing (EPP) method which was a great way to get the quilt done, but is time consuming when it gets to this stage. I spent a whole day removing papers yesterday and even with the bits I had done before I am only half way through.

Hahahaha - that is such a fun picture of Suzi removing the papers. I bet that would come in handy for getting at the little bits stuck in the corners. She's a beautiful kitty Frances!
ReplyDeleteCute! I bet she would be excellent at helping to remove those papers. Kat @ katandcatquilts.blogspot.com

ReplyDeleteShe's so helpful! That's the best way to get the most hair on the quilt. (a beautiful quilt, too!)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful little helper you have in Suzi! She looks so happy to be playing in Mommy's quilt pieces!!

She is adorable and looks pretty helpful too, I love the "caught in the act" picture.
ReplyDeleteSusie does have a bit of a wild look in her eyes even though she was just trying to help.
ReplyDeleteShe is having such a good time playing with your beautiful quilt pieces.
ReplyDeleteI love it when my cats curl up like that, I need to start leaving my quilts around to give myself a chance at catching a photo like yours! Mine don't really play in the sewing room if I'm in there, they're still learning how to be inspectors.

Suzi is such a cutie! She looks perfect in her modelling pose on the quilt. It would be quite handy having such a keen helper!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous quilt and kitty!
ReplyDeleteSuzi is such a great helper. Love the red and white quilt.
ReplyDeleteVery cute kitty and spectacular quilt.
ReplyDeleteSuzi looks like a great assistant! And the quilt is beautiful
ReplyDeleteThat look in Suzi's eyes when you caught her playing with the rows is too precious. Whoopsie, guilty as charged!
ReplyDeleteI'm absolutely thrilled to meet Suzi. She is such a beauty with great purr-sonality. And your red/white insane quilt is gorgeous. I'm a big fan of red and white quilts and yours may be the most complex I've seen. But I totally love it and look forward to seeing it when you finish it. BTW, I'm working on a red/white quilt, but a very simple one compared to yours, using the Drunkard's Path blocks.

It looks as though Suzi considers the Nearly Insane Quilt to be a sibling...
ReplyDeleteSuzi is absolutely adorable! Beautiful quilt in the works! Love the red and white.
ReplyDeleteSuzi, you are a real cutie pie and your Mom's red and white quilt is gorgeous! LarryPug wants you to know that he likes cats very much!
ReplyDeleteSuzi looks so beautiful with the quilt; I especially like the first photo of her enjoying the spot of sunlight!
ReplyDeleteWhat a helpful little cat! I'll have to throw my paper pieced projects under my cat and see if she shares the talent! I am not a fan of paper removal.
ReplyDeleteCat are so helpful. I'm glad we have them to watch out for us. Suzi is too cute.
ReplyDeleteLooks like Suzi was having lots of fun. Your quilt is going to be beautiful, Frances.
